THE MAP: WHERE AM I? Assignment 3.3.

Life was a destination I had in mind. My goal kept changing and I often felt aimless. Until I realized that life isn’t about the destination, instead it is about the journey. So here I am back at school!  A figurative road trip I will go on and see where it takes me. I know I want to make a mark, an impact on life beyond my own. And while I take every opportunity to lean something new that may aid or enrich my spiritual and professional growth, the goal is to keep going. My road won’t be easy, there will be many stops,  obstacles and even setback I can’t predict or prevent. However difficult roads often lead to most beautiful and breathtaking destinations. Once I get there I will know it was all worth it.

So here I am on my journey to sustainability. Obstacles? Full time job and full time family. Solution? Turn the obstacles into road side destinations and rest stops along the way that will teach me something new. While I take off on a two week trip around the world instead of stressing out about time constraints I will focus on treasure hunting and finding gratitude in rewarding myself. Secondly, I will try to marry up work and school as much as possible by putting some of the learning into practice in real life.

In this semester I have 2 more newly added destinations with side road attractions. One is a 2 part pit stop in Europe to visit zero waste grocery stores in Denmark and UK. I will hopefully be successful in coordinating a meeting with the owners and learn about more about their journey to sustainable lifestyle and entrepreneurship. Inspiration is everywhere if we look for it and I intend to find mine. The 3rd, but not the last stop will be China. My seasonal business R&D trip. This stop will be a bit more undefined when it comes to my personal journey towards sustainability. I will try to put some sustainable practices in place when choosing design solutions and will definitely look at R&D process with a new and fresh perspective. In any case I will report more once I return.
