Inspired by simplicity and clarity of standard based report cards for elementary education, I decided to create a visual representation of my leadership metrics dashboard. This standard based score card also uses 4 point grading system to help assess competencies a successful creative leader should exhibit at all times. Description of each score point is listed:

4=Exceeding Standards
Demonstrates superior leadership and full understanding of her/ his role, exceeds expectations. Consistently encourages and inspires others to learn and apply new concepts and skills independently and within a group. Celebrates everyone’s success and learnings, models positive behaviors. Is an active listener and observer.
3=Meeting Standards
Demonstrates and applies knowledge of an effective leader. Manages processes and systems, completes work accurately but independently. Focused on overall performance and goal delivery, no focus on individual or team potential. Takes calculated risks and follows rules.
2=Approaching Standards
Demonstrates partial understanding of what effective leadership is. Begins to exhibit explore her/ his true leadership style and purpose in any organized structure. Offers one size fits all approach. Requires some extra time, instruction, assistance and/ or practice.
1= Below Standards
Demonstrates minimal understanding of what leadership is. Doesn’t level set expectations for others nor for oneself. Seldom seeks or provides feedback on goals and progress. Poorly manages resources and underutilizes others. Needs extended amount of time, training, conflict resolution assistance and/ or leadership practice
