I am psyched out of my mind! At the beginning of October I will get to travel around the globe again. This time my business travel will focus on Copenhagen Denmark, London UK, with a long layover in Jakarta Indonesia. From there I will go on my way to Shanghai and Suzhou China before returning to Minneapolis. In early preparation for my adventures I researched some must see destinations in each city. I stumbled upon this post on WeWantRefill.com. It is about zero waste grocery stores around the world. I searched for such stores around my destination cities. Then I found some courage to email owners of these fine establishments, introduce myself and ask if I can stop by, chat to them and document my learnings on my new blog. Two of them responded YES within a day! I can’t even describe how happy that makes me. Moments like these restore my faith in humanity. Here’s the quick plan so far!
My first stop will be LØS MARKET in Copenhagen. Founded by Frédéric Hamburger and Constance Leth. It’s zero waste grocery store that sells everything in bulk. You can read more about it here.
The second stop will be in London’s Bulk Market, founded by Ingrid Caldironi. Everything in her store is sourced from within a 50-mile radius and is free from big-name brands.
I simply can’t wait to visit these 2 stores and meet these 2 incredible people who are changing the world one day at a time!
